Consequences of…Distracted Driving
Warning!!! Graphic ‘Texting’ video
When you take your eyes off the road, things can go wrong real quick. It’s amazing how many people think they can drive and talk on the phone at the same time – now that’s a bad call!
Here are some tips…
- Never text or talk on your cell while driving. And even though hands-free systems are helpful, they’re not the solution. Keep your mind on the road!
- Don’t use your cell while doing anything that requires constant attention…walking in a busy area, crossing a street or riding your bike.
- Keep your cell phone easily accessible, so that if you do feel the need to grab it, you won’t have to rummage around looking for it.
- Don’t hesitate to ignore a call or message if it might distract you. There will be plenty of time to deal with it later. You should even consider turning off your cell while driving.
- Be aware of your surroundings. Never text or talk when it could be dangerous to you or others. It’s just not worth the risk!
